As with most charities, the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society cannot continue to operate on operational income alone and relies on financial support from fundraising events and donations from the community to keep our doors open. We are not operated by nor do we receive funding from any national humane organization or any governmental agency.
Workplace Giving:
Many employers support charitable giving through a matching gift or employee donations. Check with your employer to see if they offer this opportunity.
Membership:
We encourage individuals and businesses that share our concern for animals to consider becoming members of the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society. Your annual membership donation helps offset the operating costs of running our animal shelter. Additionally, as a member of the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society you will receive:

Nielsen's 1% Rebate:
Nielsen's has made it easy for their customers to support local charities. Through their 1% rebate program, 1% of all Frequent Shopper purchases are donated to charity designated by their customer.
To participate, make sure that you have a Nielsen's Frequent Shopper card and that you have designated purchases to the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society. Every time you use your Frequent Shopper card, your sales will be tracked and credited to our shelter.
Cars 4 Causes:
Cars 4 Causes works with local charities and businesses to provide additional funds through the sale of donated vehicles and other items of value. Just call 1-800-766-CARE and say you want to donate an item with proceeds to benefit the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society.
Bequests:
A bequest to the Humane Society can be part of your estate plan, creating a legacy of care for the animals and people of our community. Check with your legal counsel to determine how best to support us through a bequest.
Securities:
We welcome donations in the form of stocks bonds or other securities.
