Covid 19

June 20, 2020 Update:

Our veterinary clinic will now be open by appointment only. We will be doing curbside vaccines, nail trims, FELV/FIV tests, Bravecto/Nexgard exams, etc.. on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10am-12pm and 130pm-3pm. Limited space is available. We will continue to maintain pet fosters and adoptions through an appointment only system. This allows us to limit foot traffic throughout our building and maintain social distancing guidelines. While our shelter is not currently open to casual public visits, we remain at your service for surrender and adoption needs. We look forward to resuming our low cost spays/neuters starting in July. We do have a waiting list to call first for appointments. Give us a call if you would like to be added to the end of our waiting list.

Our staff is on location daily caring for the remaining animals as well as directing animal intake and counseling adoptions. We are committed to continuing to support our community in every way possible, just as you have all supported our work.  Please take this time to make sure that your companion animals will have the care they need should you become hospitalized or unable to care for them. There are a myriad of resources that encourage people who are ill to not only socially distance from other people, but also their pets. This does not mean, however, that you must relinquish or abandon your pet to protect your health. You can minimize the impact of this disease to others in your household by following these simple steps:

  • If you’re infected, limit contact with animals.
  • If someone in your house is infected, keep your animals away from other animals and people.
  • Social distancing includes your pets. Keep your pets away from other people and animals, just like you should be doing with yourself.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

FYI: According to the World Health Organization, there is no evidence that companion animals have been infected or could spread Covid-19. 🙏
